Our Contract Farmers

Being accountable for all we do is essential to our success. This covers everything from the ethical sourcing of all the products and services that we require to the marketing and distribution of our tobacco.

One of our key approaches to purchasing tobacco at Nyasa Tobacco is through building strong, supportive relationships with our farmers. As a proud Malawian company, we understand the unique needs of our local growers. To support them, we’ve developed contracts that prioritize their well-being and provide clear benefits.

Our contracts assure farmers that they have a secure market for their tobacco at a highly competitive price. Nyasa Tobacco is committed to offering the best possible price, reinforcing trust and stability for our farming partners.

The requirements that we place on our Contract Farmers

1. Adherence to relevant rules and regulations is required of all suppliers.

2. In all of its commercial dealings, Nyasa Tobacco would not accept any kind of bribery or corruption.

3. When interacting with Nyasa Tobacco staff members who appear to have a conflict of interest, suppliers should steer clear of them.

4. Suppliers have to abide by all export laws and economic restrictions that are in effect.

5. Nyasa Tobacco requires its suppliers to take precautions to avoid being linked to any illicit activity.

6. Nyasa Tobacco's Global Marketing Standard must be followed by suppliers hired to carry out market research, marketing, or promotional efforts involving tobacco products.

7. In order to uphold human rights, suppliers must establish and uphold labor standards and working conditions that are compliant with both national and international laws.

8. Suppliers are required to guarantee secure and hygienic working environments for their staff, vendors, and guests.

9. Nyasa Tobacco retains the right to regularly check that suppliers are adhering to all Standards.

10. In the event that a scenario or occurrence arises that could compromise a supplier's adherence to the Standards, Nyasa Tobacco expects its suppliers to notify the company of the issue.
